Futurium, Berlin

Designed as a low-energy house, the Futurium, with its multi-faceted cast glass shell, offers a variety of insights into the future. For the steel construction, a high-quality fire and corrosion coating was required, which combines the following essential criteria:

  • high fire resistance of 90 minutes
  • Fulfilment of the requirements for the corrosiveness category C3 with long protection duration (DIN EN ISO 12944)
  • high chemical and mechanical resistance as well as a long service life
  • Compliance with the strict NBB criteria on the proportion of volatile organic compounds (VOC)

Economical processing in a few steps: The solvent-free intumescent was applied to almost all components in the factory in just one operation. After installation, the connection areas could be completed on site with the same system.
