Steel fire protection coatings – Appearance
Steel fire protection coatings – Appearance
Designing with steel is an essential element of modern architecture. Thanks to its high load-bearing capacity, this versatile building material enables far-reaching, exciting constructions that can be optimally integrated into building concepts and accentuate them in a targeted manner.
Safety aspects must always be taken into account during construction, which sometimes seem to contradict filigree architecture. Fire protection coating systems are perfectly suited to counteract this contradiction: With their corrosion and fire protection, they meet technical requirements and can simultaneously emphasize the aesthetic appearance of a steel construction. There are no limits to the choice of colours: The top coats can set accents or support the inconspicuousness of a construction.
The visual appearance of the fire protection coating itself is also particularly important. Thanks to the corresponding expertise of the manufacturers, good raw materials and experienced applicators, it is now possible to achieve the highest quality surfaces. To ensure that building owners and contractors have the same ideas about the required quality right from the start, the IGSB has defined three quality levels. It is recommended to use the quality levels defined by the IGSB throughout and to refer to the IGSB in the tender and offer texts.
Detailed information on the appearance of fire protection coatings and the quality levels of the IGSB can be found in the IGSB-INFO 2 “Design in Perfection”, which you can download in the download area.
